The Strokes are an American rock band that have been hailed by some as the "Saviors of rock & roll". Five close friends that began playing music together sometime in 1998. A Strokes show consists of vocalist & songwriter Julian Casablancas who delivers biting lyrics with a raw unique voice, Drummer Fabrizio Moretti beating drums with furious percision, Rhythm guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr moving smoothly on his feet while strumming effortlessly, Lead guitarist Nick Valensi fascinating you with his quick solos & bassist Nikolai Fraiture standing like a robot plucking away with silent enthusiasm.

The first time any of The Strokes met was in 1984 when Julian befriended Nikolai at school in NYC at the age of 6. Seven years later (1991) Julian hooked up with Fab and Nick in high school and met Albert the year after.

The Strokes have released three albums to date. 'Is This It' in 2001, 'Room On Fire' 2003 and 'First Impressions Of Earth' in 2006. And have announced a new album in 2009
